Locked Entrance to Lee's Hotel, Ingham
There really is only one way to describe this place – shit hole!
The owners were out when we arrived and after wandering around to find a payphone for half an hour Andrew was asked to wait another half an hour for them to get back – wtf! When they did finally arrive they denied I had ever made a booking – he said I emailed in August when actually I emailed at the end of October, AND, I had the email confirmation in front of me! They then took us to our room. How can I describe it? Here goes…
- Cockroaches on the floor in the hallway
- Dirt everywhere
- TV was broken
- Shower curtain was covered in mould
- Linen on the beds was disgusting, and the beds themselves weren’t much better
- Restaurant and bar were closed as it was quiet (no prizes for guessing why it was quiet!)

At one point Andrew closed the bathroom door from in the room and we ended up locked out! We had to pick the lock to get into the bathroom again!
We woke up the next morning covered in insect bites (I have 15 at least and Andrew wasn’t far behind me!)
So, don’t stay at Lee’s in Ingham and most definitely do not sleep in room 8!!
Oh and, don’t believe the good review you read in the Lonely Planet East Coast of Australia guidebook!

Disabled Access: There are two flights of stairs up to the rooms and the bathrooms are not suitable for a disabled person. As above really, we wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone!
